Obituary: Ernest Dixon Gilmore, Jr.

Ernest D. Gilmore, Jr., a resident of Carson City for the past 42 years, passed away on March 29, 2012 at the age of 54, after a life long battle with diabetes. He was born June 18, 1957 in Sonora, California and attended schools in Carson City as well as the University of Nevada, Reno. Ernie is survived by his father, Ernest D. Gilmore of Pleasant Hill, California; his mother, Marlene Gilmore of Carson City; and sister, Marlene McFall of Henderson, Nevada. Ernie was an excellent craftsman in masonry and carpentry and was cherished for his great sense of humor, sincerity and concern for others. Because of this quality, he was sincerely loved by family and friends throughout Northern Nevada and California. No services are planned. Ernie and the family would prefer any donations be sent to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation of Nevada. Arrangements entrusted to Walton's Chapel of the Valley, Carson City.
