Sausage Factory lands hot dog contract

The Sausage Factory of Carson City contracted with the Reno Aces baseball team to provide hot dogs and sausages for concession sales during the 2012 season.

Gold Dust West posts earnings for Reno, Carson, Elko

Gold Dust West in Reno posted earnings of $5.7 million on revenues of $18.1 million in 2011, which compares with earnings of $5.5 million on revenues of $17.6 million a year earlier.

Jacobs Entertainment Inc., the Golden, Colo., company that owns the Gold Dust West properties, says Gold Dust West in Carson City lost $10.7 million on revenues of $12.2 million last year. This compares with a loss of $278,000 on revenues of $12.6 million in 2010. The 2011 loss included a $10.1 million impairment of the property's value.

Gold Dust West in Elko earned $2.5 million on revenues of $12.4 million in 2011, compared with a net loss of $1.88 million on revenues of $10.9 million a year earlier.

ACTIONN officers, board president elected

The Rev. Neal Anderson, minister of the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Northern Nevada, has been elected president of the first board of directors of Acting in Community Together in Organizing Northern Nevada.

Other officers include Rabbi Teri Appleby, Rabbi of Temple Sinai, vice president; Father Chuck Durante, pastor of St. Teresa Avila Catholic Community and pastor-administrator of its school in Carson City, treasurer; and Myra Soifer, rabbi emeritus of Temple Sinai, secretary.

The other founding directors are The Rev. Rich Smith, minister of Reno First Congregational Church, United Church of Christ; The Rev. Mike Margerum, deacon of St. Paul Episcopal Church, Sparks; Rita Sloan, coordinator of the Life, Peace and Justice Commission of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Reno, and the Rev. Carl Wilfrid, minister of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.

Pat Fling has been named executive director of the group.
