Tourism volunteers

Kitty Nash of Elko, Sue Knight of Genoa, Wayne Cameron of Ely and Ben Aleck of Nixon have been recognized by the Nevada Commission on Tourism for their volunteer efforts.

Nash helped created the "Dream Vacation to Cowboy Country" contest and represents northeast Nevada at trade shows and expos.

Knight, the proprietor of the Wild Rose Inn Bed and Breakfast in Genoa, has helped organize familiarization tours for media and travel professionals and has helped organize community functions in Genoa.

Cameron, executive director of the White Pine Chamber of Commerce, has helped write grants and develop programs to build tourism in the Ely region.

Aleck, an artist and expert on the Northern Paiute culture, has been the collections manager for the Pyramid Lake Visitors Center and Museum in Nixon since 2000.
