(Continued from Saturday) The tracks at the state prison were literally hidden under a bushel for a long time. Many thought the tracks were made by workmen. When Major Garrard took charge at the prison he took great interest. Blasting occurred where the tracks went into the quarry and three human tracks and three mastodon tracks were exposed to view (continued Tuesday).

100 years ago

Superintendent McKinnon of the Orphan's Home reports the smallest number of children enrolled in many years. Before the end of the week the number will have dwindled to 42 children. Those who are left are orphans or too young to figure on leaving.

A preliminary report on recruiting in Nevada shows enlistments in the Navy and naval reserve in Nevada were the highest ever. In two weeks in July, 147 applications were accepted.

A spokesman for Carson T.V. Cable Inc., said today that pole line construction is scheduled and community antenna television will be available in about two months. Three network channels, one sports channel and an education channel will be offered for $5.95 per month.

A color copy machine was used by four men suspected of producing and cashing counterfeit payroll checks throughout Reno and Carson over the weekend.
