Chamber membership surpasses 700

When Cool Beans Coffee and Ice Cream on Mountain City Highway joined the Elko Area Chamber of Commerce in June, it established a new benchmark for chamber membership.

The chamber hit 600 members in at the end of October of 2011, its highest membership mark ever, and with the addition of Cool Bean membership topped the 700 mark at the beginning of June.

Executive Director Jennifer Sprout says the chamber is averaging about 20 new members each month.

"We are growing like no other; it is just tremendous," she says. "Elko is just growing fantastically."
