M.W. Starling, of the Mint, found some tracks similar to those at the State Prison in a quarry at Dayton as early as 1863. He cut out a slab of sand stone and set it to Sacramento, where it is now on exhibition.

Governor Oddie has appointed 10 citizens of Nevada to form a committee to cooperate in an anti-tuberculosis campaigned planned in Texas. The Texas plan is to utilize the old army posts of the south and southwest as sanitariums for the sufferers. A committee of ninety nine will promote the plan to congress.

Bunking in the same barracks of an infantry training battalion at Camp Roberts, California are Privates George Washington, Jefferson Davis, and John C. Calhoun.

The U.S. government today filed a notice of appeal from a Federal District Court verdict in favor of the 15-pound solid gold rooster belonging to the Sparks Nugget Casino. It was determined the statue is a work of art an exempt from provisions of the 1934 gold act that would have the bird melted down into Fort Knox bullion.

A fire at an apartment complex on Roop Street resulted in a carport roof collapsing and seven cars being destroyed in a spectacular blaze. The fire was called at 3:52 p.m. and under control by 4:21 p.m.
