Thanks for safeguarding dog from traffic

Returning from an outing with my dogs the day after Thanksgiving near Target on Highway 395, I stopped for a red light. My truck tailgate came down and my dog Josh tumbled out into the street.

I was unaware of this and continued on across 395 toward home. A lady followed me in her car, caught up with me and told me Josh had fallen from the truck. I rushed back to the stoplight but Josh was nowhere to be found. After a futile search, I saw a couple across the highway waving at me. I drove to them and they had found Josh in the street and put him in their car for his safety.

It's nice to know there are nice people that care. You made my holiday a special one. Thanks.

Real compromise needed

In the Nov. 24 edition of the Nevada Appeal, Mr. Doug Sever wrote a letter in which he said that Republicans needed to "compromise" and vote to raise taxes on the wealthy. A check of Webster's Dictionary finds that compromise is defined as "a settlement of differences by arbitration or by consent reached by mutual concessions."

Mr. Sever outlined what he thought Republicans should give up, raise taxes on the wealthy, but he failed to define what Democrats would be willing to give up or "compromise" on. A compromise is not one party making concessions while the other party gives up nothing. That is not compromise, it is capitulation. No serious agreements are reached by one side giving and the other side taking. He also implored our representatives to work towards compromise and put aside their biases, although he didn't define what those could possibly be. How is it that only Republicans should compromise and put aside their biases and Democrats don't have to do the same. How is that an equitable solution to the problems our country faces? Until both political parties are willing to bargain in good faith there cannot be an agreement.

Remember what President Obama said? "Elections have consequences, I won and you lost," and "The Republicans can ride the bus but they have to sit in the back." Those are not words that can possibly lead to a "compromise."

Obama 'spin' criticized

The election was won by Santa Claus because of Obama's continued freebies to any and all. Takers and fakers outnumber makers and workers.

Obamacare is a job killer, and as of this date at least 80 large companies have announced layoffs because of the cost of implementing mandatory coverage and new taxes that have yet to take effect. Fifteen thousand new IRS agents have been added to make sure you pay your fair share.

Accounting of the stimulus must be made a priority of Congress. The green energy crowd received billions in grants and subsidies, then went broke. Six trillion in new debt and no budget for more than three years, and we are now looking at another four years of nothing getting done.

Benghazi is another failure of leadership that has allowed Obama to forgo his required responsibilities in protecting citizens. A movie no one knew about caused mass protests and demonstrations throughout the Arab world, another lie by the administration to confuse the world. We have Hillary and Obama apologizing on Pakistan television for a video which had nothing to do with the killing of four Americans. All this has been debunked the media, CIA, high ranking military officers, Navy Seals and others.

Will the families of the four dead Americans ever receive the truth? Will justice be done? That will never happen. They will lie, deny, obstruct and spin along with the help of the liberal media to keep the truth from the public.

Repent before it's too late

Hey America! God has given you what you asked for because you've rejected him and his true word, the King James Bible, that he gave to all English-speaking people. He's rejecting you.

Are there bibles equivalent to the King James version? Yes! But in only one, in the language of every nation, God has preserved his one true word for all to know, but America has changed it for the flag and the Constitution. That's all you hear anymore. We've changed our God and his one true word for idols that cannot profit. Who do Americans look to for inspiration? The founding fathers! And you wonder why you lost control of your country? We lost it long ago, around the turn of the century. God started removing his protective restraint from our nation, and look where we are today. Our leaders are becoming fools.

"Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, and changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and four-footed beasts and creeping things." -Romans 1:22-23.

"Who changed the truth of God into a lie and worshiped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen." -Romans 1:25

Repent before it is too late for you as individuals to do so. The ark of time is fast running out.
