Ah Suie was arrested Sunday for stealing lumber from E.M. Hunt. Suie has served one term in the state prison and has such a fondness for the place he has made several attempts to go back. When his term expired, he went to General Batterman and offered to serve the term of another man, if that man went free. The peculiar Chinese man is known by the sobriquet of "Chicken," and will do anything to get food and shelter.

100 YEARS AGO

Word has been received that widow of D.M. Geiger, the builder of Geiger Grade, has passed in Berkeley, Calif. The famous throughway is one of the most difficult engineering accomplishments in the state.

70 YEARS AGO

The office of the selective service in Nevada will go on "war time" with working hours from 8-5 seven days per week. It is understood the extra hours requirement is general for the U.S. Military Service.

50 YEARS AGO

Bobo Rockefeller, the coal miner's daughter, today revealed she is getting married a third time to Charles Mapes Jr., the 41-year-old Reno hotel and casino owner. Bobo met her first husband, prominent Bostonian Richard Sears Jr., while in her 20s. She was the Cinderella bride of millionaire Winthrop Rockefeller.

20 YEARS AGO

An animated anti-drug video produced by actor Paul Reubens, better known as Pee-Wee Herman, will soon be distributed to television stations across the country, his probation officer said.

Carson Supervisors approve an ordinance requiring new casinos to incorporate 100 rooms as part of the same property.
