Officials to consider water, sewer bonds

The Carson City Board of Supervisors will consider issuing water and sewer bonds for improvements when it meets Thursday.

Nearly $6 million, which will be repaid from the city's water fund, will be needed for the water projects, primarily the north-south water transmission line. About $3.6 million, to be repaid from the sewer fund, will be needed to upgrade aging sewer lines throughout the city.

The board also is scheduled to take action to:

• Hear the city's quarterly business review for the period ending Dec. 1, 2011.

• Support the existing Tier 1 tax distribution as presented by the Nevada Association of Counties.

• Hear a presentation of the Historic Resources Commission's annual report for 2011.

• Introduce on first reading, an ordinance amending the vehicle and traffic section of the municipal code regarding handicapped parking placards.

• Hear a capital projects status report.

As the Liquor and Entertainment Board, it will decide whether to:

• Approve Amy Cooper as the liquor manager for Smith's Food and Drug Store, located at 599 E. William St.
