George Karagianis, 82, a long time resident of Carson City, passed away peacefully at home on February 9, 2012, surrounded by his family. He was born August 12, 1929 in Berkeley, California.
He proudly served in the U.S. Army in the 1950s. He was a long time mechanic, who owned and operated Mike's Automotive, taking great pride in his work and his customers. In addition to his extreme passion for cars, he also thoroughly enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Eleanor; three daughters, Elette, Elaine and Xanthy; and one son, Evan. He is also survived by four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, all of which have enjoyed many enjoyable memories with him. He will be greatly missed.
A memorial service will be held at Fitzhenry's Funeral Home, 3945 Fairview Drive on Saturday, February 18, 2012 at 1:30pm.
