Coin club to host coin show

Raffle tickets to win a $5 U.S. gold piece, a 10-ounce bar of silver and more are now on sale at Downtown Coin, 111 W. Telegraph St., Carson City.

All proceeds will go to the Nevada State Museum and the Carson Senior Center.

The drawing will be held at the Downtown Coin Club's third annual Coin Show, which runs May 19-20. Entrants don't need to be present to win.

One ticket is $1, six are $5 and 12 are $10. For more information call, 883-4653.

Rose named to Board of Trustees for Ronald McDonald House

Steve Rose, partner and lead financial adviser at Abowd & Rose Financial Group, was recently named to the Board of Trustees for the Ronald McDonald House Charities Northern Nevada. A graduate of the University of Nevada, Reno, Rose will serve on the RMHC Scholarship Committee and the Finance Committee.

"I am honored to be a part of the rich 25 year history of the Reno Ronald McDonald House," Rose said. "The RMHC U.S. Scholarship Program is the second largest scholarship program of its kind in Northern Nevada, next to the Millennium Scholarship."

Funding for the scholarship program is raised by the committee and is matched by RMHC Global at up to $18,500, for a total of $37,000 each year.

Martinez named care coordinator for Access to Healthcare Network

Nick Martinez has been hired as the Carson City care coordinator for Access to Healthcare Network.

Martinez is responsible for the care coordination of Access to Healthcare members in Carson City, Gardnerville, Minden, Dayton, Virginia City, Gold Hill and Silver City.

He previously worked in the California and Northern Nevada dental profession for more than five years.

Access to Healthcare Network is a nonprofit, state-licensed medical discount program for Nevada residents who do not have health insurance. Since 2007, the network has helped more than 12,000 members obtain affordable health care. For more information, call 1-877-385-2345.
