Public's help sought with locating 2 more suspects in string of burglaries

The Washoe County Sheriff's Office and Storey County detectives are asking the public to be on the lookout for two suspects still at large after a recent string of burglaries in Storey County.

Two men have already been arrested in connection with the cases.

Authorities have named 30-year-old Sparks resident Robert Jake Allen as a suspect in the burglaries. Allen was last known to be living in Sparks, but the Department of Parole and Probation issued a warrant for his arrest after he failed to comply with release conditions related to a burglary conviction. He may be driving a blue and white 1990 Ford Bronco with Nevada plates.

Detectives have also obtained additional surveillance images of a white male driving a white utility truck shortly after the burglary. Witnesses in the area of one burglary reported seeing a similar truck near the victim's residence. This unknown suspect used a victim's credit cards at a local gas station and detectives need the public's help in identifying him.

Detectives are reporting that three firearms - one pistol, one rifle, and one shotgun - are still missing, as well as several bows and knives. The public is urged not to approach or detain either suspect.

Anyone with information on this investigation should contact the Sheriff's Office Detectives Division at 775-328-3320 or remain anonymous by calling Secret Witness at 775-322-4900.

On Jan. 9, the Storey County Sheriff's Office responded to a residential burglary in the Virginia City Highlands, where numerous guns and ammunition were stolen, along with credit cards, knives and miscellaneous property.

One of the suspects used a stolen credit card from the burglary in the Reno-Sparks area and the Storey County Sheriff's Office did a media release with surveillance photos from one of the transactions.

Detectives have also identified the vehicle used during the burglary as a stolen white Ford F-350, 4-door, with running lights above the cab. This truck had been reported stolen out of Reno days prior to the burglary and was located the day after the burglary near Yorkshire Drive in North Reno. The truck had been damaged and abandoned.
