The Education Alliance names officers, members of board

Jim Pfrommer of the certified accounting firm of Pfrommer McCune Ltd has been named president of the board of directors of The Education Alliance of Washoe County.

The nonprofit was created by business and civic leaders to support students in Washoe County.

Other officers include David Dehls of Charter Communications, first vice president; Ginny Jackson, a community representative, second vice president; Michelle Sanchez-Bickley of Renown, secretary; Helen O'Brien, CPA, treasurer; Lisa Mead of Reno Orthopaedic Clinic and Chris Morgan of Deloitte, at large; and Fred Altmann of Better Green Building, Past President.

Standing members of the board include Marc Johnson, president of the University of Nevada Reno; Maria Sheehan, president of Truckee Meadows Community College; and Pedro Martinez, superintendent of the Washoe County School District.

Newly named to board are Joe Cline of UNR; Ryan Costella of Click Bond Inc.; Joe Elcano of KNPB; Alex Gamboa of Envirolution; Niki Gladys of the Reno Gazette Journal; Ray Gonzales of Wells Fargo; Randy Kirner of the Nevada Legislature; Mindy Lokshin of Parent Leaders for Education; Sean McCaffery of Entrophy Wine Group; Colin Robertson of the Nevada Museum of Art; Bonnie Saviers, a communications professional; Anthony Stansbury of the Washoe County School District; Frankie Vigil of Good Standing Outreach; Alex Woodley of the City of Reno; and John Wynn of Greater Harvest Church.

Returning board members include: Ken Achurra of First Independent Bank; Bill Cathey, a community representative; Chris Cheney of UNR; Denise Hedrick of the Education Alliance; Elaine Lancaster of the Washoe Education Association; Anne Loring ofLoring Consulting; Manny Martinez of The Chamber; Darcy Marud of Yamana Gold; Irene Payne of the Washoe County School District; Ted Plaggemeyer of TMCC; Angie Taylor, a diversity and leadership consultant; and Dean Whellams of Q&D Construction.
