Atna Resources Ltd. said last week it completed construction of the secondary access into its Pinson underground gold mine in Humboldt County.
The company headquartered at Golden, Colo., said it hopes to begin production at the mine near Winnemucca during the fourth quarter.
The Pinson Mine produced 985,000 ounces of gold from 1980 through 1999 as an open-pit operation, and Atna wants to restart mining with an underground operation.
