Rural tourism roundup

Jim Gilmore, author of "The Experience Economy and Authenticity: What Consumers Really Want," will headline the annual Rural Roundup sponsored by the Nevada Commission on Tourism.

The event, which is tailored to help rural communities strengthen their tourism sectors, is set for April 18-20 at the Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe Resort, Spa and Casino in Incline Village.

Gilmlore's book was recognized by Time magazine as one of the "Ten Ideas That Are Changing the World."

Other sessions during the event will cover the Canadian travel market, the role of special events and the effective use of social media to promote tourism.
