St. Patrick's Day: The Mills-Frisbie Band will give a ball at Lebe's Hall at Empire March 17th. The citizens of the place are desirous of celebrating the birthday of Ireland's Patron Saint which will doubtless be a pleasant affair.

James Wiggins: The Empire entertainer has made every preparation to give the public a fine affair on the 17th. There will be a good orchestra for the Empire dancers, and will have Mrs. Koahl, well known caterer, costumes will be available and stable room for carriages.

PAC-MAN: The occasion is the brand-new PAC-MAN cartridge that plugs into the Atari house TV game set. The item is due in city stores and managers are happily bracing for the event. Until then PAC-MAN costs a quarter to play at video arcades, casinos.

Gas prices keep climbing - The American Automobile Association found prices up 12 cents in Carson, making an average gallon of regular gas $1.40.
