Fiddling poet coming to Piper's, Virginia City

When Ken Waldman, Alaska's fiddling poet, makes his first Virginia City appearance on April 25 at the Piper's Opera House, he'll be making it a fiddle summit.

Waldman's 7 p.m. show is titled "From Virginia city to the Yukon River," and he will host an evening of fiddle music that connects the grandeur of Nevada to that of Alaska. Waldman will be joined by other instrumentalists.

Tickets will be pay-as-you-can with a suggested donation of $10. Tickets are available in advance and at the door.

The family-friendly evening will appeal to anyone who enjoys traditional fiddling, powerful singing, smart poetry, acclaimed storytelling or Alaska.
