Nevada Wood Preserving of Silver Springs has earned the "Safe Partner" award from the Safety Consultation and Training Section of the state's Division of Industrial Relations.
The award is based on employee and management participation in safety training and management-implemented changes to improve safety. Plant Manager Dan Young said the effort was led by Janie Silliman, its safety director.
