Obituary: Eddie Ordaz

Eddie Ordaz passed away March 22, 2012 in Carson City, NV. Eddie was born on July 5, 1940 in Cottonwood, AZ and grew up in the San Fernando Valley, CA. He moved to New Mexico where he met and married Teresa Santana. Eddie moved to Carson City NV in 1995. He returned to New Mexico for a while but eventually found his way back to Carson City in 2007.

Eddie was a residential construction framer and a jack-of-all-trades. Family was always first and foremost in Eddie's life. His favorite place was Pecos River in New Mexico where he enjoyed his time fishing and camping with family and friends. His love of 'spicy hot' Mexican food was his staple: "the hotter the better." Eddie had the uncanny ability to bring laughter in the darkest of times; his sense of humor and quick wit will be missed by all.

Eddie was preceded in death by his parents, Luis G. & Francisca Ordaz; sisters, Mary Lou Munoz, Delia Ordaz; and brothers John Ordaz and Arthur Ordaz. He is survived by his loving wife, Teresa Ordaz; daughter, Destinae of Carson City, NV; sons, Ruben (Belinda) and Luis; grand-daughters Jackie and Helenah of Santa Fe, NM; sisters, Helen O. Rosas of Carson City, NV, Esther O. Rodriguez of Canyon Country, CA, and Sally Guerrero, of Monterey Park, CA. In addition, he leaves behind loving in-laws and numerous loving nieces and nephews.

Services for Eddie will be held at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Community at 3000 N. Lompa Lane, Carson City, NV, on Thursday, March 29th at 9:00 a.m. There will be a reception and Celebration of Life immediately following in Chartz Hall. Walton's Chapel of the Valley, Carson City, is in charge of arrangements.
