Taxable sales in Washoe County during February rose 10.7 percent from a year earlier, the Nevada Department of Taxation says.
Sales in Carson City were up 4.4 percent and sales in Douglas County were up nearly 10 percent.
Car sales in Washoe County rose nearly 31 percent from their level in February 2011, and general merchandise stores were up 24 percent.
