PPG adds distribution at TRIC

PPG Industries has begun shipments from a new 187,200-square-foot distribution center at Tahoe Reno Industrial Center.

The company, which makes paint and other architectural coatings, also operates a 95,000-square-foot manufacturing facility nearby in the industrial center.

Janice Wirtz, a spokeswoman for the company based in Pittsburgh, Pa., said the proximity of the distribution center to the manufacturing operation was a key element in PPG's decision-making.

Another important factor, she said, was the ability to easily serve major West Coast markets from Tahoe Reno Industrial Center.

The facility is expected to employ 13.
