Obituary: Phyllis Erickson

Phyllis M. Erikson, born Oct. 10, 1929, in Staples, Minn., to Ilo and Edith Hagenson passed away Nov. 6, 2012.

Phyllis, a resident of Gardnerville since 1993, was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church and enjoyed working and later volunteering at the church's Child Care Center.

Her hobbies included gardening, bowling, canning pickles, and making jelly.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Ernest; her brother, Norman Hagenson; and infant brother, Patrick.

Phyllis is survived by her son, Richard of Sacramento, Calif.; daughter, Gail and son-in-law, Jim Parsons of Carson City, Nev.; daughter, Mary and son-in-law, Richard Negron of San Diego, Calif.; granddaughters, Hilary Healy, Shawna Ross, Vicki Parsons, Brittany, Maria and Samantha Negron; great- grandson, Nathan Ross; and sister, Junette of Motley, Minn.

The life of Phyllis M. Erickson, 83, an 18 year resident of Gardnerville, Nev., will be celebrated at Trinity Lutheran Church in Gardnerville on Tuesday, Nov. 13, at 11a.m.

Phyllis will be placed to rest next to Ernest at the Veterans' Memorial Cemetery in Fernley, Nev.

The family requests any contributions be sent to Trinity Lutheran Child Care Center, 1480 Douglas Ave., Gardnerville, NV, or Lutheran Women's Missionary League at that same address.
