Provisional voters can check whether vote was counted

The secretary of state's elections division has set up a toll-free phone number for Nevada voters who cast provisional ballots in the election so they can find out whether or not their vote was counted.

Provisional ballots are available to individuals whose names don't appear on the roster of registered voters and for first-time voters who don't have identification.

After their registration is confirmed, their ballot is added to the total ballots counted.

Provisional voters can check their status by providing the unique identification number on the receipt they were issued at the polling station. The instructions are on that receipt.

The number to call is 1-877-766-8683.
