Sierra Lutheran's test scores among best in Nevada

Recent reports released by the College Board and ACT showed that Sierra Lutheran High School's test scores continue to be among the best in the Nevada.A report released by ACT shows that 88 percent of all Sierra Lutheran High School graduates have at least a 50 percent chance of earning a B or higher in college-level English and college-level math. This is juxtaposed to a statewide student average of 58 percent and a national average of 56 percent who have a similar chance for success.The entire 2012 Also relevant to the findings, which were based on the scores of 2012 high school graduates, was the fact that 100 percent of SLHS's recent graduating class took the ACT versus the top 34 percent of the students attending other public and private schools across the state and the top 52 percent of students nationally who took the ACT.Data from the College Board, which administrates the SAT, reported that the Class of 2012 at Sierra Lutheran earned an average composite score of 1,623 on the SAT compared to the state average of 1,450 and the national average of 1,498 out of 2,400 points.“We are extremely proud of our student's continuing success on the ACT and SAT exams,” said Brian Underwood, Sierra Lutheran executive director. “Their success in this area not only confirms the importance of an intimate educational setting alongside a faithful staff, it also validates the school's collaborative culture that unites students, faculty, and parents for an individualized educational experience.”
