"The History of Carson City in Pictures" will be presented by Jed Block, local historian, at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 27. Block's presentation contrasts then and now to show changes in the capital city.

On Sept. 28, from 10:30 a.m. until noon and 1 to 3 p.m., volunteer Ken Hopple will operate the historic Coin Press No. 1 in the old Carson City Mint building, which is part of the state museum complex.

The museum also announced in November it will celebrate el Dia de los Muertos. The 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. event on Nov. 10, which also is known in English as Day of the Dead, is a multi-cultural celebration of life, through death, for entire families.
