Obituary: Barbara Joan Friedman Williams

Barbara was born in Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada, and moved to the U.S. as a young woman, settling in the Los Angeles area and later Carson City, in 1994. She was a successful businesswoman, politically active, and a lifelong supporter of many causes, including support for victims of domestic violence; women's voter and LGBT rights; and animal rights. Most recently she was an advocate for the protection of wild horses.

Barbara possessed a wonderful sense of humor and was the life of the party. She is survived by her loving husband and partner of 33 years, Bob Williams; son, Mark and daughter-in-law, Julianna; sister, Carole; nieces, Catherine, Jacqueline and Amy; nephew, Michael, and many more loving friends and family. She was preceded in death by her son, Greg. In honor of Barbara's memory, please exercise your right to vote; an act that she cherished as a citizen of this country. Barbara is deeply missed and will be in our hearts forever.
