The Sparks City Council approved a contract in the amount of $321,841 to Reno-Tahoe Construction, Inc. to construct phase 3A of the Victorian Square Events Plaza.
Construction primarily consists of the relocation of the famed Victorian Square Clock, a large electrical box, and a Victorian-style kiosk.
The removal of these items will create unrestricted open space on the Victorian Square event plaza, ultimately attracting more special events to downtown Sparks in the months to come.
The project includes the installation of utilities to provide for adequate power, lighting and other special event/activity venues and improvements in the future.
The project is expected to commence later in October and will be completed in early 2013.
