Frank Hetrich, superintendent of the Mint, and John James, who have lately returned from these springs, report the arrangements there for the comfort of sojourners to be in the highest degree excellent. The hotel is kept by E. B. Pierce who was put in charge of the property of the Cullen’s estate. The baths are number one for health. The fare is sumptuous — which brings dyspepsia upon the invalids the hot waters put in a state of convalescence.

Doc Williams, alias Grizzly Dan, was recently discharged from the state prison. He is the same fellow who claimed condemnation of the Steamer Governor Stanford. He is currently serving time in the Storey County jail for robbing Dan de Quille of a lot of pencils and editorial scissors.

Mr. and Mrs. George H. Meyers depart this evening for quite an extended trip to the east. They will go by way of Los Angeles and then to New York and then to Chattanooga, where Mr. Meyers will attend the National G.A.R. encampment.

Eleven members of a heavy bomber crew escaped with minor injuries when their plane crash-landed 15 miles south of the air base in Wendover. The bomber burst into flames after skidding for a half mile on the salt water flats.

Washoe Valley millionaire Charles Steen says he’s found a jewelry store of silver at the mine in the Bonito District Valencia in New Mexico. Steen once found millions of dollars in uranium in Utah.

State Engineer Peter Morros approved an application by a giant power plant in White Pine County to use 25,000 acre feet of water a year in the Steptoe Valley. The $2.3 billion plant is expected to start in 1985.
