Ride to the Lake (continued from Thursday). At Yank’s Place, the grove in front offers a dense shade during the entire day and abounds in luxuriant native grasses and wild flowers. It is a pleasing sight to watch tourists from other portions of the lake when they get off at Yank’s Landing. They rush, especially the ladies and young children, for this grove, culling flowers they are apt to spend the whole time with the indulgence of the steamboat captain.

The man who was shot out of the catapult in Robinson’s circus when here was fatally injured while undergoing a similar performance at Shasta. He is perfectly conscious, but cannot speak or move.

Mr. Bright of the Lakeview Athletic Club is forced to enlarge the arena due to the great demand for the Jack Fitzgerald and Kit Krantz fight. Jack has transferred his training quarters to the Tavern. He trains every afternoon at 3:30 p.m. The public is invited, especially the ladies.

James E. Pierce, member of the Carson High School faculty, who received his commission in the United States Naval Reserve as Ensign, has been ordered to active duty at the naval training school, aerological engineering.

Carson City real estate broker Charles B. Marriage has been elected president of the just-formed Carson-Douglas-Tahoe Board of Realtors.

Fire rushes through the Paramount Studio back lot in Hollywood, destroying the sets used in “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” and “Godfather.”
