Toy drive Dec. 21 at Community Center

Pastor Justin Simmons of Capital Christian Center will hold “Increasing the Joy,” an event to provide underprivileged children gifts this holiday season, at 10 a.m. Dec. 21 at the Carson Community Center.

Toys are collected, sorted by children’s ages, wrapped and distributed before the holiday to children up to 12 years old.

The distribution event, now in its ninth year, also provides children with Christmas activities and treats and the opportunity to meet Santa.

Unopened toys costing $10-$20 can be dropped off by Monday at Greater Nevada Credit Union,

4131 N. Carson St. or 451 Eagle Station Lane; San Rafael Coffee Co., 711 S. Carson St.; or Capital Christian Center, 1600 Snyder Ave. Money and gift cards also are accepted.
