Fighters Against Child Abuse seeks cash donations, coats, and toys for local families and children in emergency abuse shelters, and Court Appointed Special Advocates. Sierra Surgery Hospital seeks children’s coats, sizes 5-10, for its annual Coats for Kids drive to benefit local elementary schools. Donations can be dropped at Sierra Surgery, 1400 Medical Parkway, through Dec. 18. Call 775-283-3765.

New and unwrapped toys in original packaging to benefit Toys for Tots and the Ron Wood Family Resource Center can be dropped off at the Carson City Library. Call 775-887-2244.

Donations of socks and gloves for the Do Drop in Center can be left on the tree set up outside the front door of Evergreen Gene’s, at 1811 N. Carson St., through Friday. Canned foods for the center can be left in the box next to the Christmas tree. Call 775-882-1807.

FISH seeks donations for Christmas food baskets. The baskets provide meals for three days. To sign up to receive a basket, bring an NV Energy bill to the FISH administrative office, 138 E. Long St., during business hours.

Save Mart Supermarkets seek cash donations to benefit food banks. Donations of $5, $10, $15 or $20 can be made through Jan. 3 at checkout counters at Save Mart.

Raley’s is holding its 27th annual holiday bag campaign to contribute food to local food banks. Donations can be made through Dec. 31 at checkout counters in all Raley’s or at www.foodforfamilies.org.

The Toys for Tots hotline will be available for families requesting toys for Christmas from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays through Dec. 23. Toys for Tots serves families in Carson, Douglas, Storey and Lyon counties. The number is 775-884-8697.

Carson City Holiday with a Hero seeks donations to help 200 elementary school students have a brighter holiday season.
