As beautiful night as was ever illuminated by the new quartering moon added to the mirth and joy of Christmas Eve. It was by far the finest we ever saw here. As to the trees, they were a splendid and sumptuous success. Let us club together in the hope that it preceded a not less beautiful and merry Christmas.

The Christmas Tree. The only tree that blooms, buds and fructifies all in a single night and in this austere season is the Christmas tree whose green branches and flashing light comes to us again and again out of the happy remembrances of the past.

Gilbert Doll, ranger for the Mono National Forest in this area, was elected president of the Carson City 20-30 Club. Doll, who succeeds Bob Ducker, has taken an active part in Boy Scout activities in the community.
