Mike Perez passed away Jan. 25, 2013 at Carson-Tahoe Hospital after a long battle with kidney failure. Originally from Gilroy, Calif. where he retired from the police force; he eventually settled in Nev. and married Donna Burke. He was a manager at Kragen and Grand Auto Stores before spending the last 9 years working at Northern Nevada Correctional Center. He spent many of his weekends at area grocery stores performing Adell's gourmet sausage demos where the kids all called him "the sausage dude". Mike was an avid Packers fan who also enjoyed photography, taking pictures at numerous weddings and family affairs.
He is survived by his wife Donna, Step-children Timothy Burke, Kimberly Hayes Kelly Service, Kristen Burke and Desiree Avera as well as many of his 14 brothers and sisters. Donna asks that friends and family join us at the Dayton Community Center Feb. 16, 2013 at 5P.M., Pike St. in Dayton, Nev. to share a potluck dinner, stories and his favorite music in a celebration of his life.
