Opposition is already beginning against Sen. John Dennis' bill to compel county commissioners to advertise expenditures. The opposition is made under the usual mark of economy. It is claimed this advertising will drag vast sums of money from the treasury and into the coffers of the newspapers. The object is to allow taxpayers to see each month where the money goes so John Doe can't slip a bill for $16 a cord of wood instead of $8. In some cases it will keep the county from extravagant waste of county money.

One of the bills attracting attention this session is the noxious animal bounty law. This provides counties a bounty paid for extermination of noxious animals such as coyotes, wild cats and other destructive animals.

John Koontz, former auditor-recorder of Esmeralda County, has rented his home in Goldfield and now lives in Carson City. Mr. Koontz expects to join the U.S. Army in the near future.
