Allstate's Nevada expansion plans geared to 20 agents, 30 support staff

Allstate, the Illinois-based personal lines insurance corporation, plans expansion in Nevada's major markets aimed at adding 20 new agents and 30 support personnel.

"We target cities and areas that show growth and increasing demand as part of Allstate's broader strategy to expand our presence in Nevada," said Allison Williams, the insurance company's Silver State sales leader.

The move will target the Las Vegas and Reno area markets, Williams said. Agency owner candidates need a minimum of $50,000 in liquid capital to invest, according to the firm, which said that's not a franchise or licensing fee.

Allstate cited a recent survey by Manpower, a job placement company, which found 84 percent of employees plan to seek a new position this year. Allstate said the insurer has opportunities for those looking to start anew in another position in 2013.
