Sandoval named vice chairman of Western Governors

CARSON CITY, Nev. — Nevada Gov. Brian Sandoval has been named vice chairman of the Western Governors’ Association.

The first-term Republican was elected by his peers during the organization’s annual meeting held over the weekend in Park City, Utah.

Sandoval says he’s honored for the opportunity.

Established in 1984, the association includes governors from 19 Western states, two Pacific-flag territories and one commonwealth.

Members share ideas, concerns and approaches to dealing with issues unique to the West.
