The following information applies to the period of July 8-14:
Due to continued construction of the Carson City Freeway project, the following road closures are in effect. Detours are signed. Snyder Avenue between E. Roland Street and Center Drive; Center Drive and Silver Sage Drive south of Appion Way; Bennett Avenue between Ponderosa Drive and Bigelow Drive.
Bigelow Drive has been permanently closed between Bennett Avenue and Roland Street, and there may be periods of temporary closures between Roland Street and Appion Way.
Beginning Monday, July 8, there will be nightly lane closures on South Carson Street between Koontz Lane and US Highway 50 West (Spooner Junction) between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. Once the work on Carson Street is complete, Frontage Road will be permanently closed from Arthur Street to just south of Snyder Avenue. However, access will be maintained for businesses and residences. This will likely occur mid to late-week.
Lompa Lane will continue to be closed between Highway 50 East and Menlo Drive due to construction. Detours will be signed. The JAC bus routes 2A and 2B will be re-routed to follow the detour route, and the bus stops on Lompa Lane and Menlo Drive will be temporarily closed during the road closure.
The City will begin its annual slurry seal program in the area bounded approximately by King Street to the north, Terrace Street to the south, Carson Street to the east, and Longview Way to the west. There will be temporary road closures in this area while the work is being done. Delays are expected.
There will be road work at the following locations. No delays are expected. Long Street between Humboldt Lane and Rand Avenue; Nye Lane between Northgate Lane and Hot Springs Road.
The following road closures are scheduled to occur due to special events:
On Tuesday, John Street will be closed between Carson Street and Curry Street from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
On Tuesday, Curry Street will be closed between William Street and Fleischmann Way from 4-10 p.m.
On Friday, Third Street will be closed between Carson Street and Curry Street from 1:30-11:30 p.m.
On Saturday, Proctor Street will be closed between Carson Street and Curry Street from 3-11 p.m.
