Update: Police received a report from Mount Pleasant police on the afternoon of July 19 that Autumn Ellison has returned to South Carolina and is no longer in the Lake Tahoe area. The original story is below.

Police in South Carolina believe a missing 16-year-old may be in the Lake Tahoe area. Autumn Ellison has been missing from Mount Pleasant, S.C. since July 7 and may be associating with friends at Lake Tahoe or in the Reno area, according to a Thursday statement from South Lake Tahoe police.

Ellison is described as a white female who is 5-foot-1, 100 pounds, with long brown hair and blue eyes. Mount Pleasant police believe Ellison does not want to be located and will likely provide false identification to authorities. She may be at risk, but details have not been given to South Lake Tahoe police, according to the statement.

A Facebook page regarding information about Ellison’s whereabouts, www.facebook.com/findautumnellison, has been set up. Police ask anyone with information about Ellison to call the South Lake Tahoe Police Department at 530-542-6100 or Detective Cpl. Daniel Eckert of the Mount Pleasant Police Department at 843-884-4176.
