The Carson Water Company gives notice that from this moment on until the next rain, irrigation will only be allowed on Tuesdays and Fridays.

Arrangements are being made for a big opening at the new road house that has been established at the Thorne Ranch, two miles west of this city on the road between Carson and Lake Tahoe.

Former Nevada vice king Joe Conforte today was sentenced to three years in prison on an income tax evasion charge. Conforte is presently serving a sentence of three to five years in the Nevada State Penitentiary on a charge of attempted extortion.

Edith Milo is looking forward to spending her 95th birthday in her former classroom. She left New York in 1976 to live in Carson with her brother. She spent 52 years teaching and is looking forward to seeing some students she hasn’t seen in 20 years.

Trent Dolan is the son of Bill Dolan, who wrote this column for the Nevada Appeal from 1947 until his death in 2006.
