Health inspections: The Lady Tamales, inmate kitchen score 100 points

Following Carson City Health Department’s food-service inspections for June 13. All scores are on a 100-point scale, with points deducted depending on the severity of violations:

Carson City Public Safety Complex, inmate kitchen, scored 100 points.

Courtyard By Marriott, Market Place, 3870 S. Carson St., scored 100 points.

The Lady Tamales, 933 E. Woodside Drive, Suite 102, scored 100 points.

Sonda Foods Inc., bakery, 5150 Convair Drive, scored 100 points.

Rodeo Night Club, bar and lounge, 298 E. Winnie Lane, scored 99 points. The 2013 Carson City Health Permit was not posted in a prominent area for public viewing.

High Sierra Brewing Co., bar and lounge, 302 N. Carson St., scored 99 points. There were no Quat test strips to verify the concentration of the sanitizer used in the three-compartment sink.

High Sierra Brewing Co., main bar, 302 N. Carson St., scored 98 points. There was sticky residue under the black bar mats holding clean glassware. The inside of the nozzle of the soda dispenser was not clean.

High Sierra Brewing Co., main kitchen, 302 N. Carson St., scored 96 points. Found the paper towels dispenser jammed at the kitchen and hand sinks, corrected on site. The floors throughout the kitchen areas were greasy with a black coating.

La Enchilada, mobile food vehicle, 2556 Rockbridge Drive, Suite 2, scored 95 points. The floor near the entry door was damaged and could not bear the weight of an average person. The unit was not provided with window screens. A certified food handler was not present.

Firkin & Fox, main kitchen, 310 S. Carson St., Suite 100, scored 94 points. There was no measurable chlorine sanitizer residual in the final rinse cycle of the dishwasher, corrected on site. An ice scoop was stored improperly on top of the main ice machine, corrected on site. Found staff jacket and purse stored on top of the pizza-preparation unit.

Keva Juice, 2320 S. Carson St., Suite 2, scored 93 points. There was no measurable Quat sanitizer residue in the basin of the three-compartment sink during active dish washing activities, corrected on site. There was no certified food handler present.

High Sierra Brewing Co., pizzeria, 302 N. Carson St., scored 92 points. The pizza-preparation unit was not holding proper temperature. There is no soap or paper towels at the hand sink.
