Dayton man killed after rollover; two others hurt

A 21-year-old Dayton resident was killed when he was ejected from the Jeep Wrangler he was driving Friday night.

Lyon County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched at 11:11 p.m. Friday night to a rollover on Ft. Churchill Road about 5 miles east of Dayton.

The investigation states, George Lawrence Ambrose’s Jeep rolled while traveling on the dirt road. Ambrose was partially ejected and pronounced dead at the scene, according to a press release from Lyon County Sheriff’s Deputies.

Five others were in the vehicle, two were sent to a Reno hospital via Careflight medical helicopter. Three passengers were unhurt.

None of the occupants appeared to be wearing seat belts and alcohol does appear to be a factor in the accident, according to investigators.
