Mining accident: The breaking of a robe in the timber chute at the Belcher mine between the 850 and 100-foot level injured Jack Nettle, pump man, James Keely and Henry Niles … Keely had his left leg severed off above the knee, Nettle and Niles each had a leg badly bruised … The men were moved to the Belcher office, and Dr. Mansion was rendering surgical assistance.
