RSVP Spring Fun Fair is Thursday-Sunday at Mills Park

Kids, it’s time to break open the piggy banks in preparation for Mother’s Day.

Entertainment for Mom’s big day is the easy part. Take her to the RSVP Spring Fun Fair Thursday through Sunday at Mills Park.

Mom’s ride free when accompanied by a ticketed child.

“They get to have their day,” said Janice Ayres, director of RSVP. “It’s a lot of fun for them.”

There’s also a number of vendor booths to pick out the perfect Mother’s Day gift.

There are several new vendors this year, Ayres said.

Those include booths offering high-grade leather goods and handmade soaps.

And, an Indian taco stand has returned to the food court this year.

The carnival offers children’s rides and a new major Ferris wheel, plus a large midway with games for kids through adults to test their skills and win stuffed animals and other prizes.

There is no gate admission. Wrist bands cost $25 an allow wearers to get on all the rides all day. Coupons for $5 off are available in Wednesday’s Nevada Appeal.

The Spring Fun Fair is open from 4-10 p.m. Thursday and Friday, and noon-11 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

All proceeds benefit the programs offered by RSVP — Retired and Senior Volunteer Programs.

Those include home companion, respite care and lifeline programs that help the area’s low-income and home-bound seniors remain independent.
