Voting has begun to determine the winner of the $100,000 Project Vesto new business contest.
Nevada residents can go online to ves.to and vote for their favorite startup among 12 finalists chosen from 232 entrants. Voting, managed by Las Vegas firm Wedgies, ends June 21.
“With our background in marketing, we are very excited for this final portion of the competition,” says Jonathan Lee, chief executive officer of Hotlap.co, one of seven finalists from Reno. “It is a great opportunity for all finalists to connect with their respective markets.”
The winner will be announced at an event simulcast in Reno and Las Vegas and tentatively scheduled for June 26. The event will feature the dozen finalists, who will be finding out the winner along with everyone else. Project Vesto is sponsored by the Governor’s Office of Economic Development and conducted by Nevada Institute for Renewable Energy Commercialization.
