Building Solutions, Inc. of Reno received the Defense Logistics Agency’s vendor excellence award for women-owned small business at the Business Alliance Awards in Fort Belvoir, Va., last week.
BSI was recognized for its work on the Mercury Mobile Transfer System, a system housed in a portable building to be used by the Defense Logistics Agency Strategic Materials to consolidate its mercury inventory from three-liter flasks into one-metric-ton containers. The system allows the safe transfer of the mercury with no direct human contact.
The building shell was constructed in Arizona and then delivered to Hawthorne, where it is being completed.
BSI operations manager Jeff Francovich oversaw the building design and is managing the final installation processes, which are scheduled to be completed in December.
