Miner orders gear

Reno-based Western Lithium USA Corp. said last week it’s ordered $1.5 million of equipment to process the hectorite clay mine it will mine in Humboldt County.

The equipment, including extruders and dryers, is scheduled to be fabricated and delivered this fall. The plant, which will create clay products used in oil-and-gas drilling, is expected be in operation by early 2014.

Western Lithium said it is completed details on the location of the plant. The mine is at Kings Valley, where Western Lithium also is developing a lithium deposit.
