Horse adoption auction is Saturday

Thirteen wild horses from ranges on BLM-administered public lands in Nevada, Oregon, and California will be offered at an adoption auction at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Northern Nevada Correctional Center, 1721 Snyder Avenue. Public viewing will begin at 9 a.m.

The horses range in age from three to five years and vary in weight and color. The beginning bid on all horses is $150.

Attendees are asked to enter from the north side and watch for signs and event personnel at the south end of the facility directing participants to the horse corrals and parking area. The public is prohibited from wearing blue clothing, blue jeans, tank tops or shorts, and cell phones, cameras or recording devices are not permitted at the auction.
