Las Vegas businessman announces bid for Nevada Assembly

LAS VEGAS — A Las Vegas businessman has announced his intent to run for the Nevada Assembly.

Sanje Sedera says he’ll seek the District 34 seat currently held by Democratic Majority Leader William Horne, who is termed out and will leave office after the 2014 election.

A Democrat, Sedera serves as a commissioner for the Southern Nevada Regional Housing Authority. He is also a court mediator and a member of the Las Vegas Citizens Review Board for the police department.

Sedera was born in Sri Lanka and has lived in Nevada since 1995, where he has worked in real estate.
