The Carson City Historical Society will present “Carson City’s History in Motion,” a free lecture by Mary Fischer, on Thursday at the Business Resource Innovation Center, 108 E. Proctor St.

Fisher, representing Gardeners Reclaiming Our Waysides, will discuss the artistic vignettes presented at each of the gateways and interchanges of the Carson City Freeway/Bypass from 6-7:30 p.m.

GROW is a grassroots organization that started as a cooperative effort of Master Gardener volunteers and concerned citizens.

GROW worked with other citizen groups and organizations to have landscaping, artwork and a multi-use pathway included along the I-580 freeway corridor. The goal is to develop an eye-pleasing corridor for walking, biking and other recreational activities and an attractive roadway for vehicular traffic. Information about Fischer’s book, “Carson City’s History in Motion,” can be found at www.Blurb.com.
