Sam and Shelley Hubbard

Cancer Warriors are still fighting cancer.

The recipients of this year’s fundraiser are Crystal Cervantes, a Fallon elementary student, and Shelly Hubbard, a school district employee at the middle school. Both individuals are struggling with leukemia and facing the high cost of treatment.

The annual Redneck Shindig is Sept. 28 at the Churchill County Fairgrounds. The all-day event begins with a Redneck 5K race with check-in at 7 a.m., and the race is at 8 a.m. Fun and games begin at 8 a.m.

The event features a custom car show, Baby Redneck King and Queen Contest, relay races, creations and many other fun activities. There will be food and other vendors.

Have a great day of fun for the family while supporting a good cause. End your day with a Mexican feast at the multi-purpose building with the doors opening at 5 p.m. and dinner being served at 6 p.m.

Price for the dinner is $10 for advance tickets for adults and $5 for children under 10 and at-the-door prices are $12 and $7, respectively.

Dinner tickets can be purchased at Jeff’s and Postage Plus or by calling Lana Scharmann at 775-867-5350. To sign up for the 5K, go to active.com and look for Redneck Shindig. Cost for the run is $25.
